If you assume that the US actually thinks Iran is a threat if they obtain nuclear weapons your take makes sense. However, it seems obvious that the reality is the US is doing this for Israel in furtherance of a delusional Zionist dream of "Greater Israel" for the Jews and bringing Jesus back for Armageddon for the "Christian" Zionists, the rulers of the empire are truly insane.

Great points. But an Iranian nuclear weapon is not a real concern of America. Imagine analyzing American aims in Iraq as if they were actually about WMD. That analysis would have had zero predictive power, and been entirely meaningless. It's the same this time. Lies and public justifications for Imperial war are not a good basis for analysis. America is not making a single decision about Iran based on an actual fear of an Iranian nuke. America is making decisions about Iran based on the existential financial necessity of brining more collateral under it's dominion.

I fully agree that both US and Germany have strategically lost their minds and are making very bad decisions. "Bad" decisions is too light. Catastrophic seems more appropriate. How long can civilizations last once they become so unmoored from reality?

exactly!! No one I speak with gives a rat's ass about some "maybe" nuke someday. Many do not even believe that "nukes" exist other than in Hollywood. No one is afraid of giant asteroids either, but many are afraid they will not have enough groceries to feed their family.

The problem we all have is the short term havoc they both can cause by following their 'aims'. And the risk that the 'short term' may mean none of us have a 'long term'.

Why are they undermining their ability to operate on the world stage? It's not because they don't understand time and the difference between short and long term planning. In Germany's case, it is a fundamentally a "Methodically" aggressive society that seeks to dominate its neighbors as demonstarated three times in the last 150 years. America is an empire that won't relent in the face of competition for sole world domination. Call it a mindset if you will, but it comes with a willingness to inflict pain and suffering on anybody who stands in its way. Both Germany and the US see this as acting in their best interests no matter the contrary opinion and to some degree they have been very successful despite major setbacks because they are relentless in the face of criticism which is very hard to understand by the world's majority who precieve them as a menance and rightfully so.

"Take a moment to imagine an ancient tribe protected by a large body of water that enemy forces could not cross. That body of water would function as a natural defensive barrier and provide security to the population."

Now imagine an advanced country that has been protected by large bodies of water like oceans that enemy forces could not cross. Also imagine that this advanced country does not have the foresight to see that missile technology has evolved to the point that even a minor country like North Korea can breach the security of those oceans and destroy the advanced country. This might be possible with the detonation of 2 or 3 electromagnetic pulse nukes.

Maybe this country should have the foresight to not make so many enemies on this planet. It only takes one of them.
