This is Part I of a two-part series examining the history of the American industrial war machine and the structural factors driving the United States' current military production crisis.
Having worked in various manufacturing roles my whole life, I can say a major reason for the lack of skilled workers right now is due to the tremendous outsourcing that took place during the mid to late 90s and beyond. The young people at that time naturally did not pursue manufacturing careers, since there were less and less opportunities available as outsourcing increased.
I’m surprised that it does not address the wider economic context, which is the deliberate deindustrialisation of the US and the broader West, tracing back to the 1980s. In turn, deindustrialisation is linked to financialisation of the economy. It’s hard to see how the US can deindustrialise without also definancialising and also making major changes in trade flows and balance of payments.
Please compare and contrast the GDPs, military budgets, production volumes and weapon choices of the U.S. and Iran. I can only conclude that Iranian leaders are a lot smarter than ours.
North American united States have no enemies, just those they invent for themselves by projecting their own sins on others, instead of "in God we trust" and working on trade and friendship and appreciating their own blessings at home Write us an article on wonderful productive creative people not involved in death and nightmares. Nobody respects a bully. They admire inventive creative people who improve day to day life and pity those who cannot stand up for love. Yes, dangerous but just like commies, they will some day realize, we just hope not maimed or traumatized. They are like kids who want the other kids sweeties without realizing they have one in their pocket they could swap. Totally boring seeing them freaking out again! Using up peoples public work contributions on concocted enemies and unreal atomic bombs or plum island bioweapons and such. Cant even stop and enjoy their blessings. The sun coming up every day everywhere. its a wonder the USA people still contribute to the administrations they employ.

Here is an example of the issues facing the US Military Industrial Complex: https://www.twz.com/land/new-500m-artillery-shell-plant-failed-to-produce-any-155mm-parts
Surprising how low the MIC have gone in capability and scrutiny.
It reflects the poor quality of the US government and its managers.
Good news, corruption is eating up even their killing capacities!
